What Birmingham Means To Me Competition

We would like to invite your school to participate in our Birmingham competition taking place in the Autumn term of the 2007/2008 academic year. The competition can be incorporated into lesson plans of Literature, Art, Photography and Media.

The closing date for entries is 19th October 2007. Suitable ideas can be found further down this page.

The competition is split in to three judging categories and entries must comprise of one of the following media.

Judging categories

  • Special Education Needs
  • Primary
  • Secondary *

Entry categories

  • Literature
  • Art
  • Photography
  • Media

* This competition is open to under 16s only. Pupils must not be over 16 years of age by the competition closing date of 19 October 2007.

All competition entries should be sent to the Birmingham office marked 'What Birmingham Means to Me' by 19 October 2007. It can be arranged that large entries are collected by your local Select Education team.

Each winner will receive a £50 book token and trophy, whilst runners-up and winners receive a winner certificate. Local press will be invited to the ceremony, so entrants could be seen in local papers! A celebratory Awards Ceremony for winners and runners-up, parents and teachers, will take place in November at a famous Birmingham venue.
