Teaching couple run for charity
Two teachers have run a host of races this year for charity and now they're getting their trainers on for September's Great Yorkshire Run.
Following the successful treatment of their son Tom at Sheffield Children's Hospital for a kidney problem, husband and wife duo Alison and Andrew Symington have been raising money for the facility's charitable trust as part of My Running Challenge, reports Portadown Times.
The pair both teach at Portadown College, with Mrs Symington heading up girls' PE, while Mr Symington is in charge of boys' PE.
So far they have participated in two legs of the Belfast Marathon relay event, as well as three separate 10 km runs.
Speaking to the paper, the couple spoke of the fantastic work the hospital did, as well as thanking everyone at Portadown College for their support.
Earlier this week it was reported that Barnsley PE teacher Marvyn Williams returned to Willowgarth High School after participating in Channel 4 show Shipwrecked.
