Scarborough teachers return from trip to Tanzania
Four Scarborough teachers have just returned from a ten-day trip to Tanzania.
They made the journey to the east African country to visit Tanga School, with whom their school - George Pindar Community Sports College - has a partnership, reports the Scarborough Evening Telegraph.
While at the institution, headteacher Hugh Bellamy worked alongside Stuart Walker, James Pape and Matt Gadd to install laptops and work on sports leadership with local students.
They have had a partnership with the school for three years, which was formed through the British Council and Youth Sports Trust Dreams and Teams Programme.
"The college has very exciting plans for the development of the partnership and hopes to involve its students and their families in future trips to Tanga," international coordinator Anna MacDonald told the paper.
The time spent in Tanzania by these teachers is dwarfed by that of Dave Parry, who is currently about half-way through a year in the country, where he is training teachers to use technology in the classroom.
