Newly qualified teachers to attend event in their honour
A special event is to be held in Reading for a group of newly qualified teachers (NQTs).
In an effort to congratulate them on completing their teacher training course successfully, the local authority will be welcoming the NQTs to the town hall for the day.
Mayor Peter Beard, director of education Anna Wright and other local officials will greet the special guests at the occasion tomorrow.
"These new teachers can have a huge positive impact on children's lives: directly, through their teaching, and indirectly, as good role models," said lead councillor for education and lifelong learning Jon Hartley.
Representatives from a number of local organisations will also be at the event, where there will be a chance for the NQTs to learn about opportunities available to them in Reading.
Eight online coaching programmes were recently launched by Teacher Support Network as part of its new services.
