New term teaching advice offered
In a bid to ensure that the stress of the beginning of the school year is minimised, the Guardian has published some advice for teachers.
Being aware of exactly who is in the class will be useful for a number of reasons.
Not only will it mean that the teacher is prepared, but it will also ensure that no-one is missed out when drawers and pegs are labelled.
This is something else that should be done in advance, the paper notes, along with ensuring the rest of the classroom is ready before the pupils' arrival.
Honesty and patience are two important aspects of teaching, as is the teacher making sure that they enjoy having their class.
Another top tip is for teachers to remain approachable to parents, making it clear that they are available to discuss any concerns.
Preparing for the new school term is vital for teachers to keep on top of their workload, former teacher Dave Stott wrote on teachingexpertise.com.
