EU teachers get a taste of UK life
Over 50 teachers have been spending time in Yorkshire, after travelling from a variety of countries around the European Union.
Hailing from Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Italy, Spain and Turkey, the school staff are visiting the UK for a training course, the Scarborough Evening News reports.
They are staying in the town of Scarborough, where they have been visited by the local mayor Eileen Vickers.
"I think schemes like this are very good for the town as a lot of the teachers said they had never been to Scarborough before but would come back for a holiday as they enjoyed their time here so much," she told the paper.
The teachers studied at Anglolang international English language school while staying with members of the local community.
They will submit a report about what they have learnt to their colleagues upon their return to their home countries after the four-week course.
Sixth-formers around the UK last week thanked their teachers after achieving record-breaking results for their A-levels.
