ldr in running for PR award
A magazine published for school leaders has been nominated for a prestigious award, which may interest head teachers.
Nottingham-based ldr, which has a circulation of 41,000, has been shortlisted for the best external newspaper/magazine category in the Chartered Institute of Public Relations' annual Excellence Awards.
The publication, which is published by the National College for School Leadership, was picked from 853 in the awards to join another five in the running for recognition.
Nick Bannister, editor of the magazine, said: "For ldr to be up against the best external newspapers and magazines from across the UK and to be recognised in this way is a real accolade."
At the Communicators in Business Northern Region Awards in November 2007, ldr scooped five awards - the most notable being the title of overall communication of the year title, Mr Bannister revealed.
The current issue of ldr covers how head teachers can deal with media, strategies for welcoming with migrant pupils and how school leaders can use parent's ideas and input.
