Norfolk heads reveal anger
Head teachers in Norfolk have vented their anger at the local and national management of schools in a recent survey.
Despite being angry at the children's services department in the county and the services for children with special needs, nine out of ten heads did say they thought the overall standards of education was good or satisfactory.
Simon Wright, the Lib Dems' parliamentary spokesman for Norwich South, who published the survey, said: "These findings are certainly disturbing. It is essential that head teachers have confidence in the performance of Norfolk county council. The past year has been difficult for many schools in the county."
He added that more schools have gone into "special measures" and improvements in GCSE results have been "lower than average".
The survey also revealed that more than half of head teachers in the area were against plans to keep young people in education or training until they are 18.
Earlier this month it was announced that schools in Norfolk were to receive £3 million to get faster internet access.
