Select Education Teams Up With The Campaign For Learning
Select Education has announced its continued support for another series of events organised by the Campaign for Learning (CfL) throughout 2006.
The Campaign for Learning, now in its tenth year, is a national charity working to create an appetite for learning in individuals. It acts as a catalyst with a range of partners in the public, private and voluntary sector to create new opportunities and demand for learning.
CfL works with partners including Select Education, to orchestrate a series of events throughout the year. These include conferences and seminars on topics as varied as 'Literacy and Social Inclusion', 'Dads in and out of Prison' and 'Live Long and Prosper in the workplace'.
Bespoke events such as 'National Learning at Work Day' held on 25 May and 'Family Learning Week' from 715 October are also organised to raise awareness of workplace and family learning.
Select Education is sponsoring CfL in a series of one-day seminars on topics including 'The Education Bill' and 'The art of possible: the Leitch review of skills'. Select Education is also sponsoring a series of newsletters, helping to keep the education sector informed about new breakthroughs in learning. Finally, Select Education is the major sponsor of the Learning to Learn in Schools Conference, the premier schools and lifelong learning event in the calendar.
Linda Siegle, Chief Executive of the Campaign for Learning, commented: 'We have attracted help from a range of governmental and non-governmental bodies, but it is good to gain the support of an education recruitment specialist such as Select Education, and we are grateful for the encouragement and expertise they bring to the campaign.'
Bob Wicks, Executive Chairman of Select Education added: ' The role of the Campaign for Learning is vital in creating a better society where learning is valued. I am proud that Select Education continues to be associated with the Campaign's efforts in this very worthy cause.'
