Runcorn SEN School scoops Select Education prize at the NAHT Exibition

Select Education, the UK's number one specialist education recruitment agency, made a special education needs (SEN) school very happy by arranging a competition during the National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT) exhibition. The two-day seminar-based event for headteachers held in Oxford last November presented an ideal opportunity to organise the competition for SEN pupils.
The winner, Cavendish School in Runcorn, Cheshire, was awarded a range of 'Xbox' games to the joy of all the pupils. Although computer games are typically regarded as being purely for entertainment, packages such as the Xbox games offer real educational value to pupils with special educational needs in the development of visual and physical coordination skills.
Celia Dickinson, Head Teacher of the Cavendish school, comments: 'I am absolutely delighted to receive the prize on behalf of our school. Computer games are a very useful tool for SEN pupils as they teach hand and eye coordination, as well as left and right differentiation.'
