Select Education Sponsors 'Cardiff To Prague' Hitch Hike

Select Education's Cardiff branch has sponsored a hitch hike from Cardiff to Prague to raise money for Link Community Development, a charity whose mission is to improve the lives of disadvantaged people in Africa through education and training.
Three students from Cardiff University, Holly Pothecary, Lucy Timms and Robert Girvan took the challenge of hitching all the way from Cardiff to the Czech Republic in just four days. Holly and Lucy, who are both Accountancy and Management students, whilst Rob is studying Law & Politics, didn't spend a penny during their trip, and raised 1,500 in total for the charity.
Scott Kelly, Manager of Select Education in Cardiff, is very enthusiastic about the project and comments: 'Link Community Development helps disadvantaged people in Africa to gain meaningful employment by sharing and developing appropriate skills through education and training. Select Education shares their belief that education is a basic human right, which is fundamental to breaking the cycle of poverty. We feel that it is a very worthy cause to be associated with and are proud to have supported Holly, Lucy and Rob in their challenge.'
