Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose to do temporary supply teaching?
Supply teaching is an important
part of any school, so you would be fulfilling a vital role. It also gives you the opportunity to work in many and varied positions within different schools allowing your teaching experience to develop and rewarding you with exciting opportunities. It also gives you control over the amount of work you take on at times to suit you. Select Education has close relationships with our schools and pride ourselves on providing highly professional and enthusiastic people like you.
As a secondary teacher I would also like to teach
in primary and/or special schools, is this possible?
Yes, this would not be a problem.
Will I be asked to cover subjects that I am not
qualified to teach?
We will ideally aim to place you into a booking which matches the
subject you offer, however, it is commonly acceptable for schools to place
'general cover' teachers into most daily supply positions. Please remember, the
more flexible you are the more work you can expect to receive.
I only have a degree, no PGCE, can I work in
secondary as a teacher?
Unfortunately you cannot work as a teacher but you can work as an
instructor. Instructors are accepted by most Secondary schools and can cover
most lessons.
